I confess. I have been slacking a bit on reviews. It’s not for lack of subject matter. Actually it’s hard to narrow down which K-Cups to review when I have such a backlog. Maybe that’s my problem–too many to choose from!
This week I decided to go with Van Houtte Napoletano. This K-Cup has been on my mind since I tried it about a month ago. I fell in love with that first sip, and it didn’t let me down through the rest of the cup. Napoletano is bright, a little sweet, very smooth and has a chocolaty aroma. It has a crisp (not acidic), uncomplicated flavor.
For those who like more bite to their coffee, this probably isn’t for you. There also isn’t a lot of flavor nuance, but the flavor that is there doesn’t disappoint: it’s smooth and cheery. If you don’t want to make a full box commitment, I recommend getting a 5-pack sample from Keurig.
So far, the Napoletano is my favorite dark roast K-Cup from Van Houtte. Midnight Express, Eclipse, and Kenya are also very good.
