I’m a fan of Earl Grey tea and really wanted to like this K-Cup. I was sorely disappointed.
Now that I’m spoiled by beverages at the push of a button, I rarely want to steep tea, especially in the morning.
I tried this K-Cup more than once so I could test out a few settings (6oz or 8oz). Neither seemed to work. It was just too “floral” for me. I think it was the lavender aspect of the tea that was too strong. I tried it with cream and honey, then tried more honey. It didn’t help. The next time I tried cream and sugar to no avail. There was no salvaging this tea.
I have a friend (an Earl Grey aficionado) who tried this K-Cup, and her verdict is that tea is meant to be steeped, and the Keurig system isn’t suitable for it. Do you agree?
I’m wondering if maybe the water temperature needs to be different than what I use for brewing coffee. Has anyone else experimented with this on their Keurig?
I don’t want to give up on tea K-Cups yet. My latest purchase included Twinings’ African Rooibos Red Tea. Review forthcoming.
