Green Mountain Nantucket: To ice or not to ice?
This review has been a long time in the making. I’ve been performing some experiments lately and wanted to share with you my conclusions.
1) The original Nantucket Blend is good, but Nantucket Iced Coffee is better. “Why?” you may well ask. That is because it has more coffee and is stronger than its hot-brew counterpart.
2) The original Nantucket is smooth, unassuming, with a bit of nuttiness. It’s a nice medium roast to have on hand. I have heard A LOT of people say it’s their favorite.
(By the way, the original Nantucket is yummy when iced at the 4oz setting. You don’t get much coffee that way, but if that’s the K-Cup you have on hand, use what you’ve got!)
3) The Nantucket Iced Coffee is just right. Full-bodied flavor; not too strong, not too weak. Green Mountain made a good choice for its Iced Coffee. I’ve tried it at both the 8oz and 6oz settings. At 6oz, the coffee was too strong and bitter for my taste. I had to keep adding sugar and cream, sugar and cream. But at 8oz, it is oh-so-good! Just a splash of cream, and it was perfect. I also tried it with vanilla soy milk, but that didn’t fit the bill.
(FYI, Nantucket Iced tastes good hot too! When summer’s ended and you have some leftover, try brewing it hot at the 8oz setting. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks, @newyorkchica for the recommendation.)
I just read that Green Mountain altered the Nantucket recipe to make Nantucket Iced Blend, since coffee performs differently at different temperatures. It has more coffee in it too.
I just found out they stopped the iced I can’t find it any where I have tried at least 12 web sites they are all sold out so disappointed they where the only company that made black coffee nothing added
