Emeril’s Big Easy Bold was one of the first dark, extra bold K-Cups I tried. I brewed it at 8oz and honestly think I burned a hole in my stomach. Since then, my ulcer has healed and I’ve gained enough fortitude to try it again–this time at a larger size. Actually, I think I may have accidentally pressed the 12oz button. No worries! There was still plenty of flavor.
This is a very acidic brew–Big Easy Intense is a good description. It has an interesting taste but it’s also a bit stale. It mainly reminds me of Tully’s French Roast, just not as good.
One description says this “classic Parisian roast is a thick, hearty blend. Its deep, dark color and invigorating aroma will definitely kick it up a notch.” I’m not sure how important the color is, but there you go.
If you like French roasts and can handle high acidity, you may really enjoy this K-Cup. You’ll at least get your money’s worth since you can brew a larger size and still have plenty of flavor.
I’d probably give it three out of five stars. I would try it one more time to give a more thorough review, but I want to save my tummy for other K-Cups.
There are a few Big Easy Bolds at kcuptrade.com right now if you want to try it out.
